TBT: Cam’ron S.D.E. (Sports Drugs & Entertainment)

Remember listening to this right around the end of high school, Cam’s sophomore album took it back to the streets with its strings, keys, and heavy bass lines. The production was great, which will similar the classic Diplomatic Immunity album that would come years later. What’s great about it is, Cam’ron clever and sharp lyrics add a complementary hand to the production.
This was take it back to the streetz album with the eerie Losin’ Weight, What I Gotta Live For, Come Kill Me, Where I’m From, tracks that all were produced by Darrell “Digga” Branch.Cam’ron S.D.E. (Sports, Drugs & Entertainment)The title track of Sports, Drugs & Entertainment and later tracks was reminiscing of time when the future was not definite. There was a lot of uncertainty in that era, which reverberate through the music. Many of the songs generates a feeling of frustration, regrets, hope , especially when the MC speaks about where he grew up, how he looks back on his life, and even contemplating suicide. I would claim this to be Cam’ron greatest album to date, due its honesty and its genuine feel of the throwback days of Children Of the Corn. The group started in 1993 by younger rappers of Killa Cam, Murda Mase, Herb McGruff, Blood Shed and, Big L. R.I.P. Big L and BloodShed, fans of S.D.E. (Sports, Drugs & Entertainment), should also check out Children Of the Corn discography.
