Few days before the shoot Rita reached out to me if I wanted to photograph her in a flasher dancer theme photoshoot. Once I heard the idea, my initial response was I’m down. Being born in the 80s the concept came right to me, cause “FlashDance” the movie was on re-run on tbs at least once week growing up. Having a few days to find a location for the shoot, I contact several dance studios, most were booked on a short notice but I was able to find one in Midtown. The location, Pearl Studio, was just perfect, the room they gave us had one wall entirely cover by a mirror from floor to the ceiling, had one large window with enough natural light coming through it,and vintage piano, folding chair, steel fan that just fit right for the theme. With assists by Manny Deleon and Rita’s girlfriend, I think we got pretty close to the concept, What you think guys??
